CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In the Mission Raftaar project of West Central Railway, work on the railway line is progressing rapidly in the Kota division. Under the Mission Raftaar 160 km/h project on the New Delhi-Mumbai route, the work is being carried out intensively over a distance of 545 km between Nagda and Mathura. This project, costing ₹2665.14 crore for the Nagda-Mathura section, is divided into three phases: Mathura-Gangapur City (152 km), Gangapur City-Kota (172 km), and Kota-Nagda (221 km).
Key progress in the Mission Raftaar project for the Nagda-Mathura section at 160 km/h:
Out of 1090 km of boundary work, 1024 km (94%) of safety boundary wall/crash barrier work is complete.
The track safety enclosure for the Mathura-Gangapur City section is complete.
90% of the track on the up and down lines for the Nagda-Mathura-Nagda section is ready for operations at 160 km/h.
Rehabilitation of the main 4 bridges and 300 small bridges, improving load-bearing capacity, is complete.
54 non-interlocked level crossings have been eliminated to reduce delays and road accidents.
Alignment work on 50 curves of the railway track is complete.
Installation of 516 thick-web switches to reduce vibrations at track changing points is complete.
Out of 87 electric locomotives, 85 have been fitted with the Kavach system.
The Signal and Telecommunications Department has installed 117 new Kavach towers within the 545 km area.
The Electrical Department has completed work on overhead equipment (OHE) in the Mathura-Gangapur City section.
