CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Partition Horrors Remembrance Day Commemorated Across the Nation On this occasion, an exhibition was inaugurated by invited freedom fighter Mohammad Zamir Khan at Rani Kamalapati Station at 11:00 AM. The program began with Bhopal Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Devashish Tripathi honoring Mohammad Zamir Khan with a shawl, coconut, and a memento.
In his remarks, Mohammad Zamir Khan shared, “We endured much hardship. We faced imprisonment, and we bore the brunt of police batons for the freedom of our country, but we never gave up. It is through such struggles that our nation gained independence.”
DRM Devashish Tripathi emphasized that the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day was conceived to bring the nation’s pain to light. He stated, “Millions of people suffered during the partition, and this day serves as a reminder of that suffering.”
Senior Divisional Railway Manager Saurabh Kataria added, “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is a poignant reminder of the need to overcome social divisions, animosity, and the poison of hatred, while strengthening unity, social harmony, and human empowerment. This day inspires us to eliminate the venom of discrimination, animosity, and ill will.”
The event was attended by Additional Divisional Railway Managers Rashmi Diwakar and Yogesh Saxena, Saurabh Kataria, Personnel Officer, along with other branch officers, dignitaries, media personnel, and a large gathering of the public.
Additionally, physical and digital exhibitions related to Partition Horrors Remembrance Day were displayed at Bhopal Station and the Bina and Itarsi Stations in the Bhopal Division. The exhibitions showcased the hardships endured by people during the partition, with images depicting the mass exodus and the difficulties faced by those affected during that time.
