CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 12th Science Fair was inaugurated at Barkatullah University, Bhopal, under the joint auspices of Vigyan Bharati and Mapcast. The chief guest for the inauguration was Dr. Pankaj Kiledar, Director of ISRO.
The inauguration was attended by Prof. S.K. Jain, Vice-Chancellor of Barkatullah University, Bhopal, Vivaswan Hevalkar, Head of Vigyan Bharati, Anil Kothari, Director of Mapcast, Praveen Ramdas, All India Joint Secretary, Vigyan Bharati, Dr. Amogh Gupta, President of Vigyan Bharati, Central India Region, and distinguished guests Ratnesh Singh and D.K. Swami.
In his welcome address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.K. Jain greeted all attendees and encouraged students to stay aware of the continuous experiments and developments in the field of science. The inaugural session saw participation from young students from various schools and colleges. After the first session, the chief guest provided important ISRO-related information through a PowerPoint presentation and addressed students’ queries through a Q&A session.
Vivaswan Hevalkar addressed the youth with a thought-provoking message: “Do you want to build the nation, or just seek a package?” He stated, “If you only want a package, you will have to go abroad. Every student must decide whether they want to contribute to the nation or just seek personal gains. This is the responsibility of each individual.” In his speech, Hevalkar cited examples from the lives of prominent scientists and educators to inspire the students.
The 12th Science Fair featured 106 stalls set up by various departments of the Government of India, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and other institutions. Additionally, 160 stalls were arranged by students from different regions of the country to showcase their innovation-related models.
