CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 20th All India Academic Conference on Emergency Medicine, EMIndia-24, began on Friday at AIIMS, scheduled to run from August 9 to 11. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, he stated, “We are witnessing the beginning of a new era in the field of emergency medicine. Our priority in emergency medicine is to ensure immediate and effective care. We are committed to making sure that the right treatment is available at the right time. It is crucial to stay updated in today’s world. By adopting innovations like artificial intelligence and robotic surgery in emergency medicine, we can make treatments faster and more accurate. Together with AIIMS, we are striving to provide uniform high-level healthcare services across the state. A One State One Health Policy has been developed, and its SOPs have been prepared. AIIMS is also training our doctors to ensure equal access to healthcare for all. We must be fully prepared to handle natural disasters. I hope this conference will establish new benchmarks in the field of emergency medicine.”

Madhya Pradesh State Minister Krishnan Gaur praised AIIMS, stating that it provides better healthcare services to people and that events like EMIndia-24 offer a platform for those working in this field to exchange ideas and learn from each other’s experiences, leading to better patient care.

Executive Professor Ajay Singh of AIIMS welcomed the attendees, expressing pride in hosting the EMIndia-24 Conference at AIIMS. He emphasized that their policy is never to turn away any emergency patient. Despite limited resources, they strive to provide the best possible treatment. He highlighted that timely treatment during emergencies can save a patient’s life and prevent a family from falling apart. To support this, a special trauma center will be established. AIIMS has also prepared a One State One Health Emergency Medicine document to ensure that all hospitals across the state, whether big or small, follow the same standards of care as AIIMS. With the increasing occurrence of natural disasters, we must prepare in advance. AIIMS can play a significant role in disaster management in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh government. By combining AIIMS’ expertise with the state government’s resources, the state can be better equipped to handle disaster situations.

Dr. Sagar Galvankar, Founding President of the Academic College of Emergency Experts in India (ACEE-India), stated that overcrowding in emergency departments is a serious issue that requires immediate and innovative solutions. For the past 20 years, they have been committed to advancing the field of emergency medicine, establishing special units, and promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.

Dr. Sunil Malik, President of AIIMS, emphasized the importance of time in emergency cases, stating that every moment is precious. Therefore, time must be utilized effectively in such situations. He commended Prof. Ajay Singh for his efforts in making AIIMS a model institution and assured that AIIMS will continue to provide better healthcare services to the people.
