CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The orientation program and course-work for the PhD batch at AIIMS was inaugurated. Executive Professor Ajay Singh stated that through the PhD program, researchers should be motivated to find solutions to the current challenges of society. The purpose of research should not be limited to personal academic advancement but should have a real and positive impact on society.
Professor Singh advised the new researchers to choose their field of research according to their interests. However, he also emphasized that with this freedom comes responsibility. Students should select topics that help in understanding and solving societal problems and promote genuine progress and innovation in their field. He also stressed the importance of adhering to the institution’s rules and regulations. Professor Singh emphasized that maintaining ethics and discipline during the PhD journey is extremely important.
Dr. Rupinder Kaur Kanwar, Assistant Dean (Research), provided comprehensive information about the PhD program and discussed the ethical standards of research, discipline, and the available support systems. During the orientation program, the Dean (Research), Dean (Examinations), and Dean (Student Welfare) also shared their views. A total of 25 new researchers joined the program, bringing the total number of PhD students to 69, since the program began in June 2019.
