CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The two-day Zonal Task Force meeting commenced at Hotel Palash. This annual meeting is hosted each year by member states on a rotational basis. This year, the significant meeting is being organized by Madhya Pradesh.
Senior officials from the National Task Force and Zonal Task Force of the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli are participating in the meeting. Tuberculosis specialists from various prominent medical colleges of Madhya Pradesh are also attending.
The meeting was inaugurated by Saloni Sidana, Mission Director of the National Health Mission; Ashok Bhardwaj, Chairperson of the National Task Force; Bhavesh Modi, Chairperson of the Zonal Task Force; and Smriti Singh, State TB Officer of Madhya Pradesh.
Representatives from the World Health Organization, various medical colleges, and other senior departmental officials were also present on the occasion. During the meeting, the contribution of medical colleges under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) will be reviewed. In addition, attending experts and officials will receive technical guidance and training in advanced operational practices.
This meeting is a crucial step toward enhancing the active role of medical education institutions in the elimination of tuberculosis.
