CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Mumbai: The 14th India Chem exhibition and conference opened in Mumbai on October 22, with Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister J.P. Nadda urging manufacturers to invest in India's chemical and petrochemical sector. The three-day event is being organised by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals with industry body FICCI.

Nadda identified links to ports, railways, airports and roads, together with integrated production chains, as priorities for competitive chemical-manufacturing hubs. Minister of State Anupriya Patel said the BHAVYA Rasayan scheme provides for three dedicated chemical parks and called for close coordination with state governments.

The chief ministers of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha addressed the gathering and invited investment in their states. Japan is the event's partner country, while seven Indian states are participating as partners, according to the ministry.
