CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated that India currently has sufficient reserves of crude oil and LPG to meet domestic demand without any immediate concern. Addressing speculation regarding fuel availability, the minister clarified that the country possesses nearly 60 days of crude oil reserves along with approximately 45 days of LPG stock.

He emphasized that the government is continuously monitoring the global energy situation and ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply across the nation. The minister also urged people not to misinterpret or draw “imaginary conclusions” from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks related to energy conservation and responsible consumption.

The statement comes amid discussions around rising geopolitical tensions, fluctuating global crude prices, and concerns over energy security. Officials said India has diversified its crude sourcing strategy and strengthened strategic petroleum reserves to avoid supply disruptions.

Industry experts believe the government’s reassurance may help stabilize public sentiment and reduce panic regarding fuel shortages. Authorities also confirmed that oil marketing companies continue to maintain adequate stock levels across the country to ensure smooth distribution of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas supplies.
