CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The ICC has released the schedule for the 2027 ODI World Cup. India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group, and the two teams will face each other on October 10, 2027, at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The 14-team tournament will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The competition will run from October 2 to November 21.
India will begin their group-stage campaign against Australia in Cape Town on October 7. They will then play Pakistan on October 10, Afghanistan on October 14, Qualifier-A on October 17 and Zimbabwe on October 24. Group A includes India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier-A.
Because of the tournament’s new format, there could be a possibility of India and Pakistan meeting three times. If both teams reach the Super-7 after the group stage and the designated seedings remain unchanged, they could meet again in Cape Town on November 7. If both teams then reach the semi-final or final, another match would be possible. However, these potential matches will depend on the teams’ progress in the tournament and the designated seedings. The World Cup final will be played in Johannesburg on November 21.
