Nagoya. India produced a strong performance in shooting at the Asian Games 2026 on Friday, winning one gold and one silver medal within a short span of time. The pair of Suruchi Singh and Kamaljeet won gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, while the team of Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudrankksh Patil and Neeraj Kumar secured silver in the 50m rifle three positions team event.

Suruchi Singh and Kamaljeet scored 484.6 points in the final and finished 6.6 points ahead of the South Korean pair. The Indian pair had also topped qualification with a score of 587-29x. This is India’s second gold at the Asian Games 2026 and its first gold in shooting.

After this, the Indian team won silver in the 50m rifle three positions team event with 1762 points. China claimed gold with 1766 points, while South Korea took bronze with 1751 points. The Indian team comprised Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudrankksh Patil and Neeraj Kumar.

With these two medals, India’s total medal tally at the Asian Games has risen to 19, including 2 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze medals. The two shooting medals provided a significant boost to India’s medal campaign on the same day.
