CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal: The security arrangement in New York has been strengthened for the India vs Pakistan ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 match at the Nassau County International Stadium on the Eisonhower Park in New York. The Long Island authorities have received a “lone wolf threat” attack, but the governor’s office hasn’t gotten hold to any evidence of the same, as per a report by the Mint.
“We have taken many precautions. The stadium, the surrounding Eisenhower Park, the parking areas, and the watch areas are safe. As a precaution, we are adding around 100 additional police officers to our normal staffing,” Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman was quoted by CBS News.

New York City Governor Kathy Hochkul explained that the concerned administration has worked in close coordination with the Nassau County and the federal law enforcements to bring about the security and safety of both visitors and native New Yorkers who will be travelling for the tournament. Hochul has given assurance that there is no public security threat at the moment, and that directives have been issued to the state police to engage in elevated security measures.
“When it comes to the security and safety of residents here, we will go through every fine detail….I can guarantee you the safest place to be in Nassau County on June 9 will be inside that stadium,” Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder mentioned. He added that the largest security in the country’s history will be prevalent in New York on the day of the India-Pakistan clash.
