CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, celebrated its 44th Foundation Day. The event was graced by Chief Guest Ilaiyaraaja T., IAS, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, who delivered a speech on the occasion. Sandeep Chakravorty, Ambassador of India to Indonesia and Timor-Leste and an IIFM alumnus, delivered the welcome address.

In his speech, IIFM Director K. Ravichandran highlighted the institute’s key achievements, including research, publications, and impactful training programs, which have enhanced its international reputation. He praised the collective efforts of the institute’s staff in achieving excellence in education, research, training, and consultancy. These efforts have led to recognition from the Capacity Building Commission and memberships in AMBA-BGA, AACSB, and IUFRO.

Director Ravichandran announced the launch of two new MBA programs for the 2025-27 session and the Doctoral Program in Management (DPM) for the 2025 academic year, previously known as the Fellow Program in Management. In his closing speech, he thanked everyone who contributed to the institute’s success and encouraged continued efforts to achieve even greater milestones.

Director Ilaiyaraaja T. commended the leadership for its role in achieving significant accomplishments. Addressing the students, he emphasized that institutes are the foundation of a nation’s development. He encouraged students to actively participate in institutional activities, stay updated in knowledge and skill development, and acquire essential soft skills and a positive outlook to contribute to society and bring pride to their institute. He also stressed the importance of outreach and inclusivity for greater recognition and visibility. Additionally, he urged young professionals to collaborate with resource-dependent communities to improve their livelihoods and overall well-being.

Sandeep Chakravorty emphasized IIFM’s role in shaping skilled professionals and instilling core values. He highlighted the institute’s emergence as an internationally recognized institution and encouraged students to connect with alumni across various fields, learn from their experiences, and strengthen professional relationships.

The event was attended by former IIFM directors, faculty, staff, and students.
