CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Indian Railways has taken a major step towards improving and modernizing the training of its employees. In this direction, for the first time, a conference of Principals of Multi-Disciplinary Zonal Training Institutes (MDZTI) was organized under the guidance of the Traffic Directorate. At present, a total of 14 MDZTIs of Indian Railways provide training to field staff. These institutes conduct induction courses for newly recruited employees and refresher training from time to time for serving staff.

The main discussion in the conference was on the use of case studies, through which important aspects related to train operations and safety can be explained more effectively. Along with this, the use of simulators was considered to make training more interactive and engaging. It was also decided to establish a system for regular feedback collection to make training more effective.

The conference also decided to make training and lecture videos prepared by various MDZTIs available on a shared platform so that employees can access quality material in one place. As part of the conference, the principals of MDZTIs were also taken on a visit to the Delhi Metro Rail Academy, where they observed metro rail training methods. On this occasion, training techniques related to cab, bogie, and signaling systems simulators, the automatic door system, and emergency evacuation procedures were demonstrated in detail.

This conference symbolizes Indian Railways’ commitment to making its training framework more modern, practical, and high-quality. It will not only enhance staff efficiency but also ensure safe and smooth railway operations.
