The aim is to introduce tourists visiting Indore to the history and heritage of the Holkar era in one place.
The life story will be presented through modern technology. The memorial is being developed with modern audio-visual technology. Visitors will be informed about the life, governance, social work and religious-cultural contributions of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. According to the project architect, Himanshu Dudhwadkar, about 50 percent of the building construction work has been completed.
Historical sites including Lalbagh Palace will be developed. The Chief Minister has directed that Lalbagh Palace, Rampur Kothi, Champa Baodi and a Shiva temple be included in the integrated development plan. The objective of the plan is to connect these sites with better tourist facilities and strengthen Indore’s historical identity.
