CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: As per the instructions of Collector Mr. Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, an inspection was conducted regarding the safety arrangements in place at coaching centers and restaurants in M.P. Nagar in the event of a fire accident.

The inspection was carried out by a joint team comprising L.K. Khare, S.D.M. M.P. Nagar; Akshay Chaudhary, A.C.P. Police; Mr. Sunil Verma, Tehsildar M.P. Nagar; Mrs. Anamika Saraf, Naib Tehsildar M.P. Nagar; and the municipal corporation’s fire safety officer, Mr. Ashhar. During the inspection, it was found that the coaching institution Auras Academy did not have standard-level fire safety measures in place.

Auras Coaching Institute had a total of 1800 registered students, with 350 students present during the inspection. The academy operates on three floors, but adequate safety arrangements were lacking. The fire fighting system pump (hose pipe) and storage tank were found to be below the required capacity of 10,000 liters. Classes were being conducted in the basement, which lacked a secondary exit door, emergency exits, and had insufficient fire extinguishers. Only one operator was available, and there were no smoke detectors or automatic sprinklers.

Similarly, during the inspection of Mitesh Rathi Classes, which had a total of 500 registered students, it was found that multi-story buildings did not meet the standard fire safety measures required during a fire accident. Fire fighting systems were not available on every floor, and the storage tank capacity was below the required 10,000 liters. The basement was being used for two-wheeler parking, and an electrical D.J. setup was found there, but no sprinklers were present. Signboards, ABC cylinders, CO2 cylinders, and automatic sprinklers were also lacking.

It was emphasized that hotels, restaurants, hospitals, coaching centers, hostels, schools, colleges, universities, and similar institutions should adhere to the fire safety standards mentioned above.
