CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “Inspection of Safety-Related Activities by Headquarters Safety Officials” Safety is given the highest priority in the railway sector. Under this, the Western Central Railway conducts weekly safety review meetings every month under the continuous monitoring of General Manager Shobhna Bandopadhyay. During these meetings, the Chief Safety Officer of the headquarters and the Divisional Railway Managers of the three divisions ensure that safety-related activities are prioritized and railway operations are maintained. Additionally, the Safety Department conducts inspections in various sections from time to time.

In this context, various officials from the headquarters Safety Department inspected the following last week:

Inspection of Wagon Repair Workshop Kota:

For the safety of railway operations and freight transportation, the maintenance of freight wagons must be of the highest standard. Accordingly, the Safety Officer inspected the Wagon Repair Workshop at Kota. The inspection included wheel and axle turning, axle U.A.S.T., wheel disc pressing on axles, overhaul, testing, and mounting of C.T.R.B., analysis of deficiencies in bogie-mounted brake systems, repair of C.B.C. draft gear, and overhaul of tank wagons (BTPN & BTPGLN). The vigilance of employees was checked, and instructions were given to employees and officers for regular inspection of wire ropes on lifting machines. The inspection was attended by the Chief Safety Officer, the Deputy Chief Safety Officer (Mechanical), the Senior Divisional Safety Officer/Kota, and other relevant officers and staff.

Inspection of Level Crossings on the Sagar-Bina Section:

The Deputy Chief Safety Officer (Mechanical) inspected level crossings numbered 18 and 16 on the Sagar-Bina section. The inspection covered road user safety, train operation arrangements, the vigilance of gatekeepers, and counseling for gatekeepers.

Safety Audit of Gajarabahara Station:

The Deputy Chief Safety Officer (Traffic) and the Deputy Chief Signal & Telecom Engineer (Headquarters) conducted an independent safety audit of Gajarabahara Station. The audit included checking safety-related aspects and counseling the staff present.
