CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “At BMHRС, a lecture series on ‘Timely Savings and Secure Investments’ was organized this month with the support of the Postal Department as part of the Women’s Health Comprehensive Approach Committee’s monthly program.

On this occasion, Dr. Manisha Srivastava, the Acting Director of the institute, emphasized the importance of investment for a secure future for every individual. She stated that the focus should be on making secure investments rather than merely saving taxes, so that benefits can be availed when needed. Small savings can be invested securely, and understanding the correct use of savings is crucial. Being aware allows for investments to be made at the right time, which not only ensures future security but also helps in handling financial crises more effectively.

Jaypal Singh Rajput, Senior Superintendent of the Postal Department, provided detailed information on postal services, the savings schemes operated by the department, and their future benefits.

Dr. Ravindra Nath Singh, a retired official from the Income Tax Department, gave a presentation on financial plans and ITR-related information as a distinguished speaker.

Deputy Post Master Sachin Soni mentioned that both the health and postal departments have similar functions. The health department provides security for the body, while the postal department offers facilities for secure investments. He noted that the India Post Payments Bank, launched by the Government of India, allows for managing savings accounts via mobile phones and provides services for withdrawing and depositing money from home. Opening an account at the post office requires no physical visit, as it can be done using a device carried by the postman. Additionally, the post office offers better insurance policies.

Supervisor Mr. Alok Kumar Jain from the Postal Department said that the Indian Postal Department, operating since 1884, is highly trusted by the public. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the department facilitated the transfer of billions of rupees to those in need through an Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) device. Whether during the pandemic or at any time, the postal department has always been at the forefront in serving the poor and middle class. He encouraged that by depositing small savings in the postal department, individuals can contribute to the country’s development.”
