The South West Zone Inter-University Judo Competition 2024-25 was grandly inaugurated at the LNCT University Auditorium, Kolar Road, Bhopal, under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The event was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Anupam Chouksey, Chancellor of JNCT Professional University, Dharmendra Gupta, Executive Director of LNCT University, Yogesh Ghadve, High-Performance Manager, Garima Choudhary, Judo Olympian, Arun Dwivedi, Tournament Director and International Referee, D.S. Dhurve, DSO Bhopal, Chief Tournament Advisor, ACP Bittu Sharma, International Judo Gold Medalist, and Pankaj Kumar Jain, Sports Director of LNCT Group.

The event commenced with a march-past by all participants, setting a vibrant tone for the competition.

Key Highlights

In the 48 kg weight category:

Gold Medal: Monica Choudhary (RNTU)

Silver Medal: Risita Kaleria (Swarnim Gujarat University)

Bronze Medals (shared): Diksha (RTM Nagpur University) and K. Shrute (Shankaracharya University, Ernakulam).

Competition Secretary Tanwant Singh noted that the event features a women’s category.
