CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: Giving top priority to safety, West Central Railway’s Bhopal Division is conducting a special public awareness campaign till June 12, 2026 under International Level Crossing Awareness Day.

On the second day of the campaign as well, special programmes were organised at various level crossing gates in the division to make road users aware of level crossing safety rules.

Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi, the Safety Department, Engineering, Operations, Mechanical, Commercial, Signal and Telecommunication departments, along with the Railway Protection Force, are jointly carrying out awareness activities at level crossing gates. During the campaign, drivers and members of the public are being informed about precautions to be observed at level crossings, and safety pamphlets are being distributed.

As part of the campaign, public outreach programmes are being organised at level crossing gates across the division. On the second day, more than 50 road users were counselled at various level crossings, including Level Crossing Gate No. 10 on the Semarkhedi–Kanjia section and Level Crossing Gate No. 274 on the Sorai–Sumer section. Safety pamphlets were distributed and they were encouraged to follow level crossing safety rules.

The rail administration has appealed to all road users to follow the prescribed safety rules at level crossing gates, not to attempt crossing closed gates, and to cooperate in safe railway operations. It said level crossing accidents can be effectively prevented only through public participation and awareness.
