CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Marking one of the greatest achievements in human history, the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal is celebrating International Moon Day on July 20, 2025.

The event will be filled with inspirational and educational activities for students and the general public.

On July 16, 1969, NASA’s Apollo 11 spacecraft was launched from the Kennedy Space Center. Just four days later, on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first human to step onto the Moon, followed by Buzz Aldrin, while Michael Collins orbited above in the command module.

Armstrong’s iconic words —

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” —

continue to inspire generations.

To commemorate this historic event, the Centre is organizing the following activities:

Open House Quiz Competition

Live Demonstration on the Moon

These programs aim to ignite scientific curiosity and foster a spirit of innovation among participants.
