CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: To raise awareness about the role of museums as mirrors of education, research development, and social progress, the Regional Science Center, Bhopal, in collaboration with the Geological Survey of India, State Unit, Madhya Pradesh, organized the International Museum Day celebration.

As part of this event, a temporary exhibition focused on “Geotourism Sites of MP” was inaugurated for the public by Mr. Subhrasuchi Sarkar, Deputy Director General, GSI, State Unit, MP. The exhibition showcased glimpses of some unique geological sites of MP, such as Bhedaghat-Lamhetaghat, Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, the Chambal Ravines, the Dhala Meteorite Impact Crater, Ghughua National Fossil Park, and Majhgawan Diamond Mine. Additionally, rare mineral samples, rock samples, and fossils found in MP were also displayed.

The event benefitted a total of 600 attendees, including school and college students and the general public.

In collaboration with the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS), Bhopal, the Regional Science Center also organized a night sky observation program under the Astro Night banner. Participants had the opportunity to view the moon through advanced telescopes and understand the captivating beauty of astronomy.
