CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “International Radiology Day was celebrated at AIIMS Bhopal, organized by the Department of Radiodiagnosis in collaboration with the Department of Nuclear Medicine. The event aimed to highlight the importance of radiology and increase awareness about the essential services radiologists and radiographers provide in patient care. On this occasion, AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director Ajay Singh emphasized the significant contribution of radiology to modern healthcare and underscored the need for precision and excellence in medical imaging. Praising the event, he said, ‘Such programs keep us informed about the latest advancements in radiology and medicine and teach us how to apply these in patient care. The inclusion of academic activities is an excellent initiative.’
Director Ajay Singh acknowledged the hard work and dedication of radiographers, who play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality imaging services for patients. He also shared that AIIMS Bhopal received a CSR fund of INR 30 crore, which will support the installation of new machines, and efforts are underway to install new MRI machines in a PPP model. He encouraged radiodiagnosis students to contribute to AIIMS Bhopal’s progress after completing their studies.
During the event, Deputy Director (Administration) Colonel (Dr.) Ajit Kumar stressed the need for high standards in radiology and imaging and the importance of improving patient care. He praised the work of radiographers and highlighted the value of their expertise. Professor Rajesh Malik, Head of the Radiodiagnosis Department, discussed the latest advancements in radiology, focusing on improving medical practices to ensure the highest standards.
This annual event commemorates Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen’s discovery of X-rays in 1895, marking 129 years since the discovery this year. The theme for this year’s International Radiology Day was ‘Radiographers: Seeing the Unseen,’ emphasizing the essential work and services provided by radiographers.”
