CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of International Senior Citizens Day, as per the directives of Madhya Pradesh Higher Education, a program was organized by the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell at Sarojini Naidu Government Girls Post Graduate (Autonomous) College. The event was inaugurated with garlanding and lighting of the lamp in front of the statue of Goddess Saraswati by the chief guest, Sadanand Sapre (Thinker and Intellectual), Dhirendra Shukla (Special Duty Officer), Dhirendra Chaturvedi, Devendra Rawat (Manas Bhavan), and coordinators of the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell, Pradeep Kumar Khare and Ashok Kumar Nema.

In his speech, Sadanand Sapre discussed the contributions of ancient Indian scholars, such as Sage Bharadwaj in the field of aeronautics, Bhaskaracharya in physics, and Sage Bodhayana in mathematics, emphasizing that the core knowledge and discoveries are rooted in the Indian knowledge tradition. He elaborated that Western thinkers merely built upon this knowledge rather than inventing it. Prof. Ashok Nema expressed gratitude and explained in detail the responsibilities students have towards senior citizens. He also highlighted efforts being made to raise awareness among students on various societal issues, as outlined in the National Education Policy 2020.

The event saw the presence of Cell members Monika Singh, Nishi Sharma, and a large number of students.
