CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: International Tolerance Day Celebrated at Barkatullah University with Lectures and Competitions Barkatullah University, Bhopal, organized a special lecture and short video presentation under the theme of “Indian Knowledge Tradition” to mark International Tolerance Day. The event featured Mukesh Mishra, Director of Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute, as the keynote speaker, and Professor Suresh Kumar Jain, Vice-Chancellor of Barkatullah University, as the patron.

In his address, the keynote speaker highlighted that tolerance has been an integral part of Indian culture since ancient times, rooted in the philosophy of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramaya” (May all be happy, may all be free from illness). He emphasized that India has never been intolerant; tolerance is deeply embedded in the nation’s character.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jain, elaborated on the meaning of tolerance, describing it as the ability to remain patient and composed even in adverse circumstances.

Following the lecture, competitions on the theme “Ancient India: An Epitome of Tolerance” were held, including a speech contest and a poster competition. Certificates were awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners.

The event was organized by Ruchi Ghosh Dastidar (Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell), who extended greetings to the Barkatullah University family and students on International Tolerance Day and expressed gratitude to all attendees. The program was hosted by NSS coordinator Rahul Singh Parihar.

Faculty members from various departments were present, adding significance to the event.
