CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series is expected to launch in India with a starting price of ₹86,000, according to a report by Techarc. This marks a significant increase from the iPhone 16’s launch price of ₹79,900. The price hike is attributed to factors such as the depreciation of the Indian Rupee against the US Dollar and Apple’s historical trend of annual price increases averaging 7.6%. Despite the “Made in India” label, key components will still be imported, making the pricing susceptible to currency fluctuations.
The iPhone 17 series is anticipated to feature four models: the standard iPhone 17, the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, and the Pro variants. Notable upgrades include the new A19 chip, ProMotion LTPO displays with 120Hz refresh rates, enhanced front and rear cameras, and improved battery life. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be Apple’s slimmest iPhone yet, measuring just 5.5mm in thickness. The official launch is scheduled for September 9, 2025, during Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event.
