CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 36 runs in the second qualifier of the IPL Playoffs 2024 to qualify for the final. Pat Cummins-led SRH will meet Kolkata Knight Riders in the summit clash at Chennai’s M A Chidambaram Stadium on May 26, Sunday.

Opting to bat first, SRH posted 175/9 thanks to Heinrich Klaasen’s half-century. Rajasthan Royals bowlers were brilliant as they contained the explosive Hyderabad batting line-up to a chaseable total.

However, Royals batters led by captain Sanju Samson (10 off 11) crumbled before SRH spinners who utilised the Chepauk conditions to their advantage.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (42 from 21) and Dhruv Jurel (56 not out from 35) were the only RR batters who could offer any resistance against the SRH bowlers who were clinical from the first over. Opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore (10 from 16) 10 dot balls in the power play didn’t help their cause either.
