CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Jamui. The investigation into the case involving a minor student in Bihar’s Jamui has been handed over to IPS officer Deepti Monali. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under her leadership.
The administration has stressed that the investigation should move forward quickly and that the legal process should be completed in a time-bound manner. Deepti Monali is currently posted in Jamui as Sub-Divisional Police Officer. She is the first woman SDPO of the Jamui subdivision.
Earlier, she underwent practical training as a trainee Assistant Superintendent of Police in Gaya district. After her selection to the Indian Police Service, she also received training at the National Police Academy.
Deepti Monali originally hails from East Champaran in Bihar and was raised in Patna. She completed her schooling at DAV Public School, Patna. She then graduated in Philosophy from Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi, and completed her postgraduate studies in the same subject at Miranda House.
She secured the 184th rank at the all-India level in the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination 2023. She was later selected for the Indian Police Service and became a Bihar cadre officer of the 2024 batch.
In the Jamui case, the SIT will now examine the facts linked to the incident, the role of the accused and the available evidence. The administration has also taken steps for swift legal action in the matter. An appeal has been made not to share the victim’s identity or any unverified material related to the case on social media.
