CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: CNN Central News and Network – ITDC India Epress | ITDC News, Bhopal: Christchurch. Team India has suffered a setback ahead of the second T20 match between India and New Zealand. Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the second match to be played on October 24 due to a strain in the upper thigh muscle of his right leg. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed this. The medical team is monitoring his condition.

A route could open for Vaibhav Suryavanshi. In Ishan Kishan’s absence, 15-year-old young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi is likely to get a chance in the playing XI. Indian team batting coach Sitanshu Kotak had indicated that if Ishan is not available, Vaibhav is among the strong contenders to replace him.

Vaibhav did not get an opportunity to play in the first T20 match against New Zealand. Now his aggressive batting could be seen at the international level. However, the final XI will be selected by the team management.

India had won the first match. India successfully chased New Zealand’s target of 225 runs in the first T20 of the series and registered a four-wicket win. With this victory, the Indian team took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

The second match will be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. The Indian team will look to maintain its winning momentum, while the possibility of Vaibhav Suryavanshi getting a chance has increased the excitement among cricket fans.
