CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Ishan Kishan’s return in the fourth T20 remains uncertain; will he get a place in the playing XI?

Auckland. The fourth match of the five-match T20 series between India and New Zealand will be played today (30 October). Ahead of the match, the biggest question is whether wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan will return to the playing XI. Ishan has been seen batting in the nets after recovering from injury, but his place in the final XI is still not certain.

Ishan returns to nets after injury

Ishan Kishan suffered a strain in the muscles of his right leg during the first match of the series. After that, he could not play in the second and third T20 matches. On 29 October, he batted during a practice session in Auckland and played some good shots. This has raised hopes of his return.

If he returns, whose place will he take?

India have already taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series. In such a situation, the team management may prioritise fitness while also trying out players. If Ishan returns, changes may have to be made in the top order. Vaibhav Suryavanshi strengthened his claim by scoring 45 runs off 19 balls in the previous match, while Sanju Samson is also among the team’s options.

Match to start at 12:30 pm

The fourth T20 between India and New Zealand will be played at Eden Park in Auckland. As per Indian Standard Time, the toss will take place at 12 noon and the match will begin at 12:30 pm. India’s final playing XI will be confirmed at the time of the toss. For now, the possibility of Ishan Kishan’s return remains, but whether he gets a place in the final XI will depend on his fitness and the team management’s strategy.
