Tel Aviv. The Israeli military has claimed that it killed Saher Nidal Latifi Saqr, a Hamas member said to have been involved in the October 7, 2023, attack, in an airstrike in Gaza. According to the Israeli military and security agency, Saqr was driving the motorcycle that was used to take Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or from the Nova music festival to Gaza.

Israeli officials said Saqr was killed on Saturday in a strike in the Nuseirat area of central Gaza. Israel says he was linked to Hamas and also had a role in supplying weapons to the organisation during the war. Israeli security agencies have also accused him of planning attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians in coordination with other Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad members.

The video of Noa Argamani’s abduction was among the most widely seen images of the October 7 attack. Argamani was freed in June 2024, along with three other hostages, during an Israeli operation in Nuseirat. Her partner, Avinatan Or, was later released in October 2025. During the conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Israeli military has reported targeting several Hamas members said to have been involved in planning the October 7 attack or in the taking of hostages.
