CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Delhi: Face-offs with China continue on the Arunachal border, ITBP on alert

CNN Central News & Network – ITDC India ePress | ITDC News, Bhopal: New Delhi. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Director General Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor has said that face-offs with Chinese soldiers are continuing at several places along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh.

He said China has invested heavily in modernising its army and in military technology. In such a situation, countering it through conventional methods would be challenging.

Addressing personnel in Alwar, Rajasthan, Kapoor emphasised the growing role of drones and anti-drone technology in modern warfare. He said drone platoons have been formed in all ITBP border units. The force is also strengthening its technical capabilities while training drone pilots.

Preparation to deal with Galwan-like situations

The ITBP has designed a new training course named “Strike” to better deal with Galwan-like situations. The plan is to put the entire force through this training by the end of 2027.

In addition, a special combat team named “Shaurya Commando” has also been formed, which has demonstrated its capabilities during the ongoing standoff with Chinese soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh.

Expansion of modern facilities on the border

The Director General said underground shelters and bunkers are being developed in border areas. Emphasis is also being placed on the modernisation of weapons, vehicles and border posts.

He said technology, training and better resources are extremely important to strengthen India’s border security in the changing warfare scenario.
