CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal/ Jabalpur: A divisional meeting of technical education institutions was held at Jabalpur Engineering College under the chairmanship of Higher Education, Technical Education, and AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar.

During the meeting, discussions were held on various aspects of technical education institutions, with necessary directions issued to enhance students’ holistic development, quality learning and teaching, annual activities, institutional excellence, academic environment, and overall academic standards. Principals of all technical institutions presented the current status and progress of their respective colleges.

Minister Parmar emphasized the need to resolve all pending audit objections and CM Helpline issues in colleges. He instructed institutions to ensure sufficient resources in laboratories, make internship plans effective, and strengthen placement opportunities so that youth do not remain unemployed. He also reviewed the education system, resources, and placement status of polytechnic colleges.

The Minister stressed that all colleges should create green campuses by planting trees in vacant spaces. He instructed the department to send proposals regarding staff recruitment. He also directed institutions to maintain cleanliness of buildings, conduct whitewashing, carry out necessary repairs, and improve hostel and toilet facilities.

He advised conducting surveys to find out why students are not taking admissions in certain branches and send suggestions to the department. Libraries, he said, should include reference books along with course books to give students an opportunity to learn about India’s traditional knowledge systems.

Highlighting India’s rich intellectual heritage, Minister Parmar said that Indian architect Balbahu designed Beijing city, Indian scholars introduced the world to the number system, and mathematician Baudhayana had explained the Pythagorean theorem as early as 800 BC. He mentioned that sages and seers of India were fundamentally followers of scientific thinking, with Aryabhata calculating the Earth’s diameter close to today’s modern measurement.

He underlined that education is a medium of knowledge transfer and should provide solutions to many of society’s questions. In the nation’s reconstruction, every effort—big or small—matters, and hence, institutions should ensure that students leaving college do not remain unemployed and instead become responsible citizens.

The meeting was attended by Director of Technical Education Virendra Kumar, Principal of Jabalpur Engineering College Rajeev Chandak, along with principals and professors of divisional technical institutions.
