CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Singh reviewed the progress of the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign during a meeting conducted via video conference from the Commissioner’s Office auditorium.

The Divisional Commissioner stated that the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign is being carried out as a special initiative of the Chief Minister. He emphasized that water conservation and augmentation are essential to secure the future of coming generations. He directed officials from all departments associated with the campaign to prepare action plans and play an active role in its implementation. All officials were instructed to prioritize water conservation activities under the campaign.

He further directed that a detailed study and report be prepared for all districts in the division, focusing on the benefits of irrigation through water stored in farm ponds and other water structures constructed in the previous year. The report should also cover improvements in crop productivity and the rise in groundwater levels.

Additionally, he instructed that water quality testing reports of rivers be prepared through the Environmental Board. A comprehensive action plan should be developed for the conservation, protection, and rejuvenation of river origin points. He also emphasized the need to upload real-time data on both Central and State Government portals. Furthermore, progress of the campaign should be reviewed monthly through district collectors.

The meeting conducted via video conference was attended by District Panchayat CEOs from all districts of the division, along with officials from the concerned departments.
