Affordable Medicines through Jan Aushadhi Kendra
The Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras (PMJAK) provide high-quality yet affordable medicines, which cost 50% to 90% less than branded alternatives. The scheme also generates employment opportunities and offers both allopathic and Ayurvedic medicines.
This initiative aims to reach individuals who cannot afford expensive medicines, ensuring that essential treatment remains accessible. These centers are operational in major government hospitals and private healthcare facilities. Additionally, Jan Aushadhi Kendras were launched in district hospitals on September 17 last year.
Raising Awareness for Accessible Healthcare
Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, CMHO Bhopal, stated that awareness programs will be conducted at various levels throughout the week. The primary goal of these initiatives is to promote the availability of quality generic medicines at lower prices, making healthcare more accessible across India.
