CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Italy’s tennis star Jasmine Paolini has announced her split from coach Renzo Furlan after 10 years. The 29-year-old shared the news on Instagram on Monday.

“After 10 wonderful years, I want to sincerely thank Renzo Furlan for everything he has done for me. I will always be grateful,” Paolini wrote.

Under Furlan’s guidance, Paolini made tremendous progress, finishing as runner-up at both the French Open and Wimbledon in 2024, winning Olympic gold in doubles at the Paris Games, and helping Italy win the Billie Jean King Cup. These achievements elevated her to World No. 4, and Furlan was named WTA Coach of the Year for his exceptional contribution.

Expressing her emotions, Paolini added:

“Renzo has not only been a coach but also played a key role in shaping my personality. His teachings will stay with me forever. I deeply respect his dedication, passion, and values.”

However, Paolini’s 2025 season has been less impressive so far. She exited in the third round of the Australian Open, and recently lost to World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the Miami Open semifinals.

With the French Open starting on May 25, all eyes will be on whether Paolini can replicate her past success without her longtime coach by her side.
