CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: German fastening specialist fischer has been selected to supply advanced fastening solutions for the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, the landmark skyscraper planned to rise more than 1,000 metres and become the world’s tallest building upon completion. The project is currently scheduled for completion in 2028.
fischer will provide a combination of chemical fastening systems and high-performance mechanical steel anchors for the mega-project. The solutions are designed to support secure load transfer in concrete and meet stringent safety and performance requirements.
The tower’s location near the Red Sea presents demanding construction conditions, including high temperatures, humidity and salty air. According to fischer, its fastening systems have been selected for their load-bearing capacity and reliability under such extreme environmental and structural conditions.
In addition to supplying products, fischer’s technical experts will support project planners and construction teams on site, providing guidance from design and structural calculations through to professional installation. The company says this involvement is intended to help ensure precision and reliable construction progress.
The Jeddah Tower is being developed by Jeddah Economic Company and is designed as a mixed-use skyscraper incorporating residential, commercial and hotel spaces, along with an observatory. Its planned height of more than one kilometre would place it above Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, currently the world’s tallest completed building.
fischer has previously supplied fastening solutions for major projects in the region, including the Burj Khalifa, Ain Dubai and Louvre Abu Dhabi. Its involvement in the Jeddah Tower adds another major landmark to the company’s portfolio of large-scale construction projects.
