CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: An opportunity has opened for young candidates preparing for government jobs in Jharkhand, with recruitment planned for home guard posts. The Jharkhand Home Defence Corps, Deoghar, will recruit a total of 772 rural and urban home guards. The online application process will begin on October 11, 2026, and candidates will be able to apply until 5 pm on October 26, 2026.
The recruitment includes 635 posts for rural home guards and 137 posts for urban home guards. A key feature is that 50 percent of the total posts in both rural and urban categories will be reserved for women. Within the women’s reservation, 5 percent of posts have also been earmarked for widows, divorced women and deserted women.
In terms of educational qualifications, candidates for rural home guard posts must have passed at least Class 7, while candidates for urban home guard posts must have passed Class 10. Candidates must be at least 19 years old and not more than 40 years old as on January 1, 2026.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of a physical test, Hindi writing ability test and technical proficiency test. The application fee has been fixed at Rs 100 for all categories. Applications can be submitted online through the official recruitment portal.
