Gnanavel, Vettaiyan is an action-drama movie that follows the story of a retired police officer, who is drawn back into service after a shocking crime against a young woman. He faces several challenges along the way and does not shy away from fighting against the corrupt system. The film has a stellar cast, with Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Dushara Vijayan.
