CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Jitu Patwari, President of the Pradesh Congress Committee and former Union Minister Arun Yadav, toured various assembly constituencies in Khandwa and Khargone districts to hold meetings with Congress workers in preparation for the “Jai Bapu Jai Bhim Jai Samvidhan” campaign rally scheduled in Mhow on January 27. They urged everyone to make the campaign a success.
Director Patwari stated, “This is a fight to protect the Constitution and to combat the disrespect shown to Babasaheb Ambedkar. Gandhian people must come forward to safeguard the country’s Constitution. If we fail to protect it, questions about the nation’s existence will arise. The existence of any country depends on its Constitution.”
He also said, “BJP’s slogan of ‘400+ this time’ was aimed at changing the Constitution. Their leaders themselves admitted it. Amit Shah insulted Babasaheb, and the Prime Minister did not utter a single word. Amit Shah has not apologized. The Congress party, which sacrificed its leaders for India’s independence and progress, is ready to shed its last drop of blood to save Babasaheb’s Constitution.”
Patwari further mentioned that he has already toured about 60 assembly constituencies and expressed confidence that the event would see the participation of lakhs of enthusiastic Congress workers from across the state.
During the tour, a local Ladli Behna (sister) met Patwari, pleading for justice. He remarked, “BJP had promised to provide ₹3,000 under the Ladli Behna scheme but is now giving only ₹1,250, which is also being gradually discontinued. Over 1.5 lakh Ladli Behnas have been excluded from the scheme.”
Through the media, Patwari urged the Chief Minister to fulfill the promise of ₹3,000 made to the Ladli Behnas. He also addressed Minister Mohan Yadav, saying, “Fulfill the commitment you made.” Meanwhile, Anganwadi workers also met Patwari, seeking government support for their demands.
