CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A patient suffering from Rasmussen Encephalitis was successfully discharged from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of JK Hospital and LN Medical College in Bhopal. The patient was brought to JK Hospital in an unconscious state from a government hospital and had to be kept on a ventilator for 16 days.
The patient remained in the PICU for 30 days, during which he battled multiple complications including severe hypernatremia (high sodium levels), blood pressure instability, and continuous seizures. After a challenging 30-day struggle, the patient was successfully discharged.
This recovery is the result of a collaborative effort by postgraduate pediatric students and the nursing staff.
The medical team involved in the treatment included Dr. Chandramohan S. Reddy, Dr. Kirti Vishwakarma, Dr. Manjari Gupta, Dr. Neheel Nigam, and Dr. Anshul Singh.
