CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal: With the cooperation and support of the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Bhopal, Jay Narayan College of Technology, Bhopal, organised two important expert lectures on environmental conservation and sustainable development on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The first expert lecture was held on the topic, “Climate Action in Madhya Pradesh: Local Initiatives and Success Stories.” On this occasion, Dr. Swati Moghe, State Director, MP-CG, WWF India, informed students and teachers about climate change, environmental sustainability, community participation, and successful conservation campaigns being conducted in the state. She encouraged young people to play an active role in addressing environmental challenges.
The second expert lecture was organised on the topic, “Digital Carbon Footprint,” in which Dr. Savita Dixit, Professor, Department of Chemistry, MANIT Bhopal, highlighted the impact of digital technologies on the environment and measures to reduce digital carbon emissions. She underlined the importance of responsible technology use and individual contribution in building a green digital future.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, various competitions were also organised for students. Students participated enthusiastically in the competitions and showcased their creativity and awareness towards the environment. Participants who delivered outstanding performances were honoured with first, second and third prizes.
On behalf of the college management, gratitude was expressed for the continuous guidance and support of Dr. Mohit Pandya, Management Representative, JNCT. The programme was successfully coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Rishu Upadhyay. As faculty coordinators, Dr. Bushra Fatima and Prof. Deepti Tiwari, and as student coordinators, Kavyansh Gupta, Mohit Rajput, Pari Maurya and Anushka Saxena made significant contributions.
A large number of students and teachers participated in the programme and expressed their commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
