Cricket West Indies has released the new central contract list for the men’s and women’s teams for the 2026-27 season. The most notable name on the list is opening batter John Campbell, who has received a central contract again after seven years. Along with him, Matthew Forde, Amir Jangoo and women’s cricketer Mandy Mangru have been given senior international retainer contracts for the first time.

Campbell’s return is being seen as the result of his impressive performances. In the 2025-26 season, he scored an unbeaten 115 against India in the Delhi Test to register his first Test century. In addition, returning to the ODI team after six years, he played a blistering innings of 101 off 68 balls against India in Guwahati in September.

Cricket West Indies has awarded senior retainer contracts to 15 players in the men’s team and 15 players in the women’s team. In addition, three men’s players – Jewel Andrew, Ackeem Auguste and Vitel Lawes – have received development contracts. All contracts will be effective from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.

The men’s list includes key players such as Shai Hope, Roston Chase, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Rovman Powell and Sherfane Rutherford. Shai Hope will continue as captain of the ODI and T20 teams, while Roston Chase will remain captain of the Test team.

According to Cricket West Indies Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe, the men’s team’s first major target is the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier to be held in February. The women’s team, meanwhile, will play an ODI series against Pakistan in December.
