In the India Today and The Week & Hansa 2024 survey for the best colleges in the country, Asia’s first and India’s largest media university, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU), has secured a place in the top ten.

Notably, in last year’s 2023 India Today survey, MCU was ranked 11th. This time, it has climbed one position to join the top ten. MCU is the only university from Madhya Pradesh to secure a place in the top ten list of both surveys. The university’s Vice-Chancellor, K. G. Suresh, expressed happiness over this significant achievement, attributing the success to the university’s teachers, officials, staff, and students.

Prof. Suresh stated that it is a matter of great pride that our university has made it to the top ten list of the country’s ten best colleges. It is worth noting that MCU had previously also secured a place in the top ten list of The Week. This year, for the first time, the university was honored with the EduTainment Award at a grand ceremony held in Mumbai, where Vice-Chancellor K. G. Suresh was also recognized for his remarkable contribution. Additionally, the NMT department was awarded at the ceremony.

MCU is among the first universities in the country to implement the National Education Policy. Furthermore, the university has established two new departments: the Department of Cinema Studies and the Department of Indian Languages. Two new undergraduate courses, B.A. (Hindi Language, Technology, and Translation) and B.Sc. (Media Research), have also been introduced this year.

For the first time, online applications were invited this year through the Central University Entrance Test (CUET). Additionally, the university is participating in the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) process this year. This significant achievement has brought joy to the university’s teachers, officials, and staff.
