CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In a moment of academic pride and symbolic transformation, the Central University of Rajasthan welcomed a distinguished German delegate under the Government of India’s prestigious Category-I Collaboration Framework. This visit marked a powerful milestone in India’s emergence as a global hub of higher education and intellectual exchange.
Prof. (Dr.) Bhuban Chandra Mahapatra, Director of Open & Distance Learning and Research at the university, expressed his sentiments with deep emotion:
“Thirty years ago, I visited a German university as a student. Today, a scholar from Germany visits our Indian university. This is Bharat — once a seeker of knowledge abroad, now a centre of knowledge for the world.”
Prof. Mahapatra, India’s first Ph.D. holder in Instructional Technology, is a renowned educationist and thought leader in digital learning, educational reforms, and teacher training. Under his leadership, the university’s ODL and Research initiatives have gained national and international recognition.
During the visit, both sides engaged in discussions on cross-cultural academic collaboration, technology-driven education, and the effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. The exchange emphasized shared values of innovation, inclusivity, and global cooperation in the field of education.
This academic engagement is more than a ceremonial visit — it reflects India’s growing stature on the world map of education, where knowledge no longer travels one way. It now returns — enriched and respectful.
