CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla stated that efforts are being made rapidly to equip all district hospitals in the state with modern facilities. He emphasized that the government aims to provide high-quality healthcare services to citizens within their districts. To achieve this, healthcare infrastructure is being strengthened, and necessary medical equipment is being ensured. Providing advanced, accessible, and affordable healthcare services to citizens is the government’s top priority.
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla inaugurated the MRI service center at JP Hospital, making it the first district hospital in the state to provide MRI services. He mentioned that the government is making continuous efforts to enhance and expand healthcare services in the state. MRI services will soon be introduced in Ujjain, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur.
He also highlighted that these services will be available to citizens at 30% lower than CGHS rates and free of cost for beneficiaries registered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla acknowledged the significant improvements in the country’s healthcare sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He stated that Prime Minister Modi continuously monitors developmental projects and has directed timely and quality healthcare services to be provided to citizens. The healthcare reforms in the state are being implemented with a focus on both current and future challenges.
Advanced Cardiac Services Coming Soon to JP Hospital
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla announced that by March 2025, JP Hospital will complete work on a Cath Lab and advanced cardiac care facilities. Services like angiography, angioplasty, heart transplants, and bypass surgeries will be available through Cath Lab and CTVS services. A 100-bed cardiac care unit will also be established. He instructed officials to ensure no delays in construction and to maintain the quality of services.
Healthcare Empowerment Inspired by Prime Minister Modi
State Minister for Public Health and Medical Education, Narendra Shivaji Patel, stated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, healthcare services are consistently being strengthened. Medical colleges are being established, and future challenges are being addressed through these reforms. Deputy Chief Minister Shukla is making continuous efforts to expand and enhance healthcare services in Madhya Pradesh. Recruitment is underway for over 46,000 medical and paramedical positions, ensuring excellent healthcare security for all citizens.
MRI Scanning Capacity for 80 Patients Daily
The Bhopal MRI center has been established at a cost of ₹10.5 crore, including building construction, equipment, and technical upgrades. It is equipped with the 1.5 Tesla UMR 580 machine, which features advanced technology for fast, accurate scanning, superior imaging, and energy efficiency. The center can handle 80 scans daily, offering high-quality services with minimal waiting times and accurate reporting.
Services at 30% Lower Rates than CGHS
Free for Ayushman Beneficiaries
Advanced MRI services will be available at up to 30% lower than CGHS rates. Beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme will receive these services entirely free of cost. For instance:

MRI Brain (Plain): ₹1338 (CGHS rate ₹1998)
MRI Shoulder (Plain): ₹1339 (CGHS rate ₹2000)

MRI Angiography (Contrast): ₹3315 (CGHS rate ₹4950)
Full-Body MRI for Oncological Workup: ₹3415 (CGHS rate ₹5100)
MRI Spine (Lumbar): ₹1423 (CGHS rate ₹2125)
