CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A Kalaripayattu performance event, organized by the SPIC MACAY Chapter Bhopal, was held at the indoor stadium on the UIT RGPV campus. The performance showcased the ancient martial art form from Kerala, Kalaripayattu, under the leadership of Shri K.P. Krishnadas Gurukkal from Trissur, Kerala. The nine-member team, including two female students, demonstrated several challenging combat drills and the handling of complex and formidable weapons.
On this occasion, UIT RGPV Director Sudhir Singh Bhadoria, SPIC MACAY Chapter Bhopal Heritage Club faculty advisor Noin Khalik, Piyush Kumar Shukla, along with university professors and students, were present.
Addressing the audience, Prof. Sudhir Singh Bhadoria congratulated the team from Kerala for preserving India’s traditional sports heritage and appreciated SPIC MACAY for promoting the country’s cultural legacy. Dr. Noin Khalik, the event coordinator, gave the vote of thanks.
It is noteworthy that SPIC MACAY continues to organize such events in educational institutions, carrying forward the legacy of its founder, Padma Shri Kiran Seth.
