CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 90th Foundation Day celebration of the Akhil Bharatvarshiya Haihaya Kalchuri Mahasabha will be held with great enthusiasm and pride on August 2 and 3, 2025, at the grand auditorium of LNCT University Campus (Kolar Road), Bhopal. A crucial meeting of the organizing committee was recently held at the SME Auditorium in the JK Hospital campus to finalize preparations for this historic occasion. During the meeting, responsibilities were distributed and the event framework was outlined.
National General Secretary Advocate M.L. Rai shared that the National Executive Meeting will take place on August 2 at 3 PM, and the Foundation Day celebration along with an open platform workshop will be held on August 3 from 10 AM onwards. Distinguished social workers, intellectuals, community representatives, and national office bearers from across India will participate in this grand event. The ceremony will be presided over by National President Jai Narayan Chouksey, with National Advisor Shankarlal Rai, General Secretary Advocate M.L. Rai, State President Pankaj Chouksey, Organizing General Secretary O.P. Chouksey, Office Secretary Virendra ‘Pappu’ Rai, Publicity Secretary Hariram Rai, and other senior leaders present on the stage.
Key Discussion: Inclusion of ‘Kalchuri’ as a Common Surname
A special discussion will be held on the strategy of prefixing the word ‘Kalchuri’ as a caste identifier in the caste census. National President Jai Narayan Chouksey pointed out that subgroups like Kalar, Kalal, and Kalwar are currently recognized under different surnames, leading to underrepresentation in demographic data. Adopting the common surname ‘Kalchuri’ will unify the community and strengthen its national identity. This proposal will be presented for deliberation among all members.
He further announced that the ancient religious city of Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh will be developed as “Mahishmati Kalchuri Dham”, and the world’s tallest statue of Lord Sahasrabahu will be installed there. He urged the youth of the community to actively promote Kalchuri Dham through social media.
