The centenary celebration of ‘Kalyan’, the prestigious magazine of Gita Press dedicated to the promotion of Indian culture, Sanatan Dharma and moral values, will be held in Gorakhpur. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will chair the function, scheduled for 4 pm. The event is being organised on the occasion of the 134th birth anniversary celebration of Hanuman Prasad Poddar.

At the function, noted scholars and thinkers from across the country will share their views on the 100-year ideological, cultural and spiritual journey of ‘Kalyan’ magazine.

The programme will be addressed by former MP Rakesh Sinha, Bal Mukund Pandey, national organising secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana, Sanjay Dwivedi, former director general of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, and Omji Pandey, director of the Indian Council of Historical Research.

It is noteworthy that ‘Kalyan’ magazine has played an important role for a century in spreading Indian culture, Sanatan tradition, spiritual thought and moral life values. The magazine has been a powerful medium for taking India’s knowledge tradition and cultural consciousness to the people. The centenary celebration will feature discussions on its historical role, ideological contribution and relevance in contemporary society.
