CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Kangana Ranaut, often in the news for her controversial statements, recently compared the women of Himachal Pradesh to actresses who were born or raised in the state. Sharing photos of Preity Zinta, Yami Gautam, and others, Kangana commented that women more beautiful than these actresses are earning their livelihood through cattle rearing.
Kangana shared a collage of pictures of herself alongside Preity Zinta, Yami Gautam, and Missing Ladies fame actress Pratibha Ranta. Along with the collage, she wrote, “People of Himachal Pradesh. When I visit Himachal and see women as beautiful or even more beautiful than us, working tirelessly in the fields without any Instagram or reels, rearing sheep and goats for their livelihood, I feel they could certainly be influencers. Himachal genes, Himachal women.”
This post from Kangana comes amidst reports from a survey highlighting that Mandi, a city in Himachal Pradesh, has the highest incidents of cruelty against women. Notably, Kangana Ranaut had won the Lok Sabha election from Mandi on a BJP ticket.
Kangana’s Emergency to Release in January
After a long wait, Kangana Ranaut’s much-anticipated film Emergency is set to release on January 17, 2025. Initially planned for a September release, the film faced delays as the Censor Board refused to pass it without cuts. The board demanded the removal of certain controversial scenes, but Kangana insisted on releasing the film uncut. She even approached the court against the Censor Board. After a prolonged wait, the film has finally received certification with some conditional changes.
