CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal: Kangana Ranaut has witnessed a series of flops at the box office of late. From Dhaakad and Thalaivii to Tejas and Chandramukhi 2, all her recent films have received lukewarm response from the audience as well as critics. Now, the actress has finally broken her silence on facing multiple setbacks at the ticket window.

While making her comparison with Shah Rukh Khan, who had a phenomenal comeback with Pathaan last year, Kangana said that even the biggest superstars in the film industry fail a lot more than they succeed. “Poore world mein aisa koi nahi hai. Shah Rukh Khan ki 10 films nahi chali, phir Pathaan chali. Meri 7-8 saal koi film nahi chali, phir Queen chali, phir 3-4 saal baad Manikarnika chali. Now Emergency is releasing next, you never know maybe it will work wonders at the box office,” the actress said at the Times Now Summit 2024.

Kangana then said that she and Shah Rukh are “the last generation of stars” as OTT cannot make stars. “We are known faces and by the grace of God, we are very much in demand. But I want to involve myself with the real world as opposed to just being consumed by the field of arts,” Kangana added.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut is set to fight the Lok Sabha election from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi on the BJP’s ticket. Last week, the Saffron Party released its fifth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls fielding Kangana, who is a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from her birthplace. The actress was born in Bhambla near Manali, which is in the Mandi district.

Kangana took to microblogging site X and said she was “honoured and elated to officially join the party”. “My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta’s own party, Bharatiya Janta party ( BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Loksabha candidate from my birth place Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency) I abide by the high command’s decision on contesting Loksabha polls. I feel honoured and elated to officially join the party. I look forward to be a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant. Thanks,” the actress said in an X post.
